World Opera Competition
Operalia,
the World Opera Competition, founded by Placido Domingo, will be held in Québec from Septembre 19 to 24, 2008.
This project, initiated by the Opéra de Québec, will be presented by a consortium of Québec's major cultural partners: The Opéra de Québec, the Orchestre symphonique de Québec, the Grand Théâtre de Québec, the Société du Palais Montcalm and the Club musical de Québec in conjunction with the Société des Fêtes du 400e de Québec.

Presented for the first time in Canada, after having been held in Paris, Madrid, Tokyo, Los Angeles and elsewhere, the competition, under the artistic guidance of Placido Domingo, will showcase 40 lyric artists, selected after hundreds of auditions held around the world.
